Registering for our German courses is quick and easy! You can register directly on our website by going to the course configurator where you can easily select the course of your choice, enter your details and complete the payment directly via our website. Once the payment has been made, we will automatically enrol you on the course and send you a confirmation email. We recommend that you register at least 10 days before the course starts to secure a place on the course of your choice.
The designation comes from the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: A stands for beginner level, B for intermediate and C for advanced. However, the transitions are fluid. In our level progression you will find the exact order of the courses:
If you haven't studied German before, you should start with A1.1. But if you already have some knowledge, our placement test will help you. We will also be happy to help you find the right level for you! Just write to us at info@speakeasy-munich.de
Just contact us and we will find the right level for you! If there are still places available in the desired course, you can easily change courses within the same course month.
You are welcome to try out our speakeasy method in a trial lesson before you register! Please write to us first at info@speakeasy-munich.de so that we can find a suitable day together.
You only pay for your course, you can find the prices in our price list. If you need books or a confirmation letter, they will be added - that's it. There is no registration fee.
You can pay for your course via our website using instant bank transfer, credit card or PayPal. You can also come to our office and book your course in person. Here you can pay by credit card, debit card and cash.
The refund policy can be found in our terms and conditions. It is important that all refund requests for monthly bookings are received by us at least ten days before the scheduled start of the course. A refund of 70% of the course fees is then usually possible. Please note the special refund regulations for our course packages. For visa courses, a 70% refund is only possible if your visa is rejected. If you are unable to attend your booked course as planned due to a scheduling conflict, we will be happy to help you find a suitable alternative!
We offer different ways for you to save on your course fees: The biggest savings are offered by our course packages, which include an attractive discount compared to individual monthly bookings. But there are also discount options for monthly bookings, such as the Early Bird discount for early booking of your follow-up course or the Refer a Friend discount. You can redeem discount codes directly when booking on our website! Please note that not all discount options can be combined, and you cannot accumulate individual discounts.
Our groups have an average of 6 - 8 participants. As some levels and times are particularly popular, your course may reach the maximum size of 12 people.
Our courses usually run for four weeks. For level A1.1, we also regularly offer compact courses lasting three weeks. If you would like to join a course that has already started, let us know and we will be happy to advise you!
It depends on your course format: in the Intensive Course, you can complete levels A1, A2 and B1 in two months. For this you take two courses, e.g. A1.1 and A1.2. Level B2 then takes three months and Level C1 four months. In the evening course, it takes twice as long because you have lessons two days a week instead of four. We have created an illustrative graphic of the level progression.
Generally, the language of instruction is German. However, we are happy to help with additional English explanations until all participants have become accustomed to lessons in German, especially in our A courses.
Our speakeasy teachers organise each lesson so that you get plenty of time to speak! Of course, we also develop your reading and listening comprehension skills as well as your writing skills. Grammar is explained clearly and with lots of examples so that you can use it straight away!
All our speakeasy teachers are native speakers of the language they teach. They have the necessary professional qualifications to teach German as a foreign language. Their backgrounds are as individual as they are themselves. Take a look at of our teachers’ profiles here!
In the speakeasy library you will find all the materials for your course, including which content was covered on which day and which homework has to be completed by the next session.
We offer many different courses from 9am to 9pm - together we can find one that suits you! If your schedule changes often and you need a lot of flexibility, our private lessons are an ideal option for you!
If there are still places available in another course, you can easily change your course during the same course month.
Your registration is normally valid for the course you have booked. If you cannot attend your booked course, please inform us in writing at least 10 days before the course starts. In this case, we can usually reschedule your enrolment for another month. Please note that verbal agreements are not binding, only the written form counts, so it is important that you inform us by email.
Of course! We regularly organise events for our participants such as trips to our favourite spots in Munich or a beer garden. You can find out more about our events here.
Our Super-Intensive Course meets the German Embassy's requirement of 18 teaching units per week and is therefore the perfect choice if you want to apply for a language visa. For your visa application, you will need an official letter of confirmation of your enrolment. We can send you this document after your application (it costs 50€). For more information on how we can help you with your visa application, click here.
Currently, we do not offer official language exams at our language school in Munich. That will soon change - when it does, you will of course find out about it here! But at our partner school speakeasy Berlin, there are five telc exam dates per month. Our colleagues have years of experience in organising and conducting telc exams and would be happy to see you! You can find more information here.
