Hello dear German learners, I'm Babsi and since March 2022 I'm happy to be able to pursue my favorite occupation, teaching people from all over the world, at speakeasy. Just as my students learn something new every day, I also learn something new every day through their stories, languages and cultures, which I find incredibly exciting. Having studied Spanish, French, Italian and Portuguese myself and having worked as a Language Assistant and Au pair in Madrid for six months, I can empathise quite well with your situation, how it is to live in a foreign city, to have to find your way around and above all to learn a new language. The most important thing for me is that you feel comfortable in my lessons, have fun, dare to ask questions and above all don't be afraid to make mistakes – because that's the best way to learn! Outside of class, I coordinate our telc exams at speakeasy and try to make your exam day as relaxed and enjoyable as possible.

Hello everyone! I'm known as the Kahoot and/or Tabu- teacher because I love introducing these games into the classroom! Because without interactive methods, teaching simply isn't fun (in my opinion). Be it games, scavenger hunts, excursions fitting the topic, etc., I'm open to everything! Because I grew up bilingual myself and had problems with German at school, I understand your concerns well, but I can guarantee that I can take your fears away! You'll realize that German isn't as bad as you think ;)

Hey guys, me, way too good for a master's degree but not vain enough for a doctoral thesis, somehow stumbled into a job as a German teacher. This means that every lesson is essentially on-the-job training for me ;) I also only speak the two languages that I was born with fluently (German and English). And maybe I shouldn't mention that I didn't understand the difference between dative and accusative until I was an adult... So everything points to me being an impostor. So why should you seriously consider having me as a teacher? It's quite simple: I'll teach you every aspect of German in a very theoretical and detailed way with lots of examples and marginal information, while you'll notice that no one is more relaxed and patient than me, and you'll be able to learn it again in peace and quiet in my presence I can make mistakes in the second position of the verb, even if I die a little inside. Although this is about the German language, you can still make me happy if you pronounce my first name in English: [ˈeɪ.dɹiː.ən]
